FALL ACTIVITIES THAT WON’T BREAK THE BANK

Did you feel that hint of cool breeze in the air?

Yes, fall is on the way. Football games, travel opportunities, and many other activities beckon people around the country to get out and enjoy the good life.

And while the weather is cooling, inflation is running hotter than ever. But don’t let that put a damper on your fall plans.

Here are a few tips and tricks to enjoying the fall without breaking the bank.

Football on a budget

For many people, fall and football go hand-in-hand. But tickets, parking, and tailgating can all add up. Fortunately, there are workarounds.

If you love college football, many mid-size and smaller schools offer family packs at considerable discounts to regular season ticket prices. Most offer discounts for up to four or five people.

If your family is smaller, just go in with a few friends.

Fans of the pro game will have a challenge finding deals. Fortunately, there are a whole host of online discounters where you can find tickets almost half-off if you plan ahead.

As for parking, a little shoe leather can save you a lot of money. If you can, just park further away and enjoy a relaxed autumn walk. Your wallet (and waistline) will thank you.

Hiking and Camping

Here in the sultry South, camping can be drudgery. It’s usually too hot, too wet, or too cold. But fall is perfect!

You can rent inexpensive camping gear online and go to a state park for a great weekend.

Most state parks offer reasonable rates on primitive sites and have lots of things to do, like fishing, hiking, bird-watching, mountain biking, and kayaking.

And all this will set you back less than a nice night out on the town.

Take it inside

Once you’ve had your fill of the great outdoors, you might be inclined to head to the great indoors!

There’s nothing wrong with that because there are plenty of deals here, too.

In fact, it’s a great way to celebrate Oktoberfest. You don’t have to be German to appreciate having a pack of friends over for brats and beer. And the best part is an Oktoberfest get-together is simple and inexpensive.

But don’t stop in October. If you decide pricey football tickets are out of reach this year, bring the game to you.

Your favorite tailgating foods taste just as good at home, so why not tailgate there? It’s more affordable, and let’s face it, that recliner in your living room is way comfier than some hard stadium seat.

Don’t let inflation get you down this fall season. There’s still plenty of fun to be had that will keep you, your family, and your wallet happy.
